Residents clash over land squabble
A land row has ensued at Olopito Group ranch in Narok North after a section of land owners complain over land grabbing by a group of individual. The land located at the outskirts of Narok town had been sold 35 years ago to a group of investors.

The 125 members under the Olopito plot owners group said they bought the plots measuring 100 by 100 feet back in 1985 and have never got the value of the plots due to the protracted court cases plot number.
The group’s officials led by Robert Nyang’au,Allan Kamau and Jane Nyokabi said since they bought the 105acre piece of land which was sub-divided into 400 plots but some people believed to be the relatives of those they bought with have subdivided their plots into 800 plots.
The plot owners said they are yet to develop their plots as the grabbers whom they said could be colluding with some government officials in the security department to allow the illegal demarcation.
The community is now calling on security officials within Narok to intervene as they are living in fear as elections approach. They further called on the National Land Commission Chair Mohammed Swazuri who met the group to intervene and resolve the matter.
They are now calling on the government to intervene to ensure that their right to own land in the country is safeguarded.
