Ten counties have been designated as critical battlegrounds for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential contender William Ruto ahead of the August 9 elections.
The two leading contenders have spent the past month concentrating their campaigns in eleven counties with at least 3.6 million registered voters.
Among the counties are Mombasa, Tana River, Nakuru, Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Vihiga, Narok, Samburu, Marsabit, and Isiolo.
A Tifa research poll shows that in five counties, Raila would lead in Isiolo, Kisii, Trans Nzoia, and Nyamira.
Raila has a 50 per cent approval rating in Isiolo, a 61 per cent rating in Kisii, a 52 per cent rating in Trans Nzoia, and a 58 per cent rating in Nyamira.
According to a poll issued today, Ruto leads Murang’a County with 62 per cent, followed by Raila with 18 per cent.
The polls indicate that Ruto is supported by 42 per cent of the people in Isiolo, 20 per cent in Kisii, 34 per cent in Trans Nzoia, and 26 per cent in Nyamira.
In Isiolo, Trans Nzoia, Kisii, and Murang’a Counties, Roots Party candidate George Wajackoyah placed third.
The information was gathered between July 5 and 7 in Isiolo, Nyamira, and Kisii.
Other statistics were obtained between June 25 and 26 in Murang’a, and data was taken between June 28 and 29 in Trans Nzoia.
The polls in Murang’a were conducted with a sample of 407 voters with a margin of error of +/-4.9 percent, while the sample size in Isiolo county was 435 registered voters with a margin of error of +/-4.7 percent.
The survey included 516 Kisii county voters, with a margin of error of +/- 4.3 per cent.
Six hundred residents of Nyamira were questioned the margin of error was 3.0 per cent while 416 people were questioned in Trans Nzoia county.
