Public Service Commission announce CAS jobs
The Public Service Commission (PSC) has advertised the position of Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS).
Through a notice by the Commission’s Chairperson Anthony Muchiri, the applications are open till October 27, 2022 and submissions must be received by the commission no later than 5:00 pm.
“Following the establishment of the Office of the Chief Administrative Secretary by H.E the President under Article 132(4) (a) of the Constitution as read with Section 30 of the Public Service Commission Act, 2017, the Public Service Commission hereby invites applications from suitably qualified persons who wish to be considered for appointment,” read part of the notice.
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens and hold a Bachelor’s degree from an institution that is officially recognised in Kenya.
Candidates need to demonstrate that they have the capacity to successfully handle the interface between politics and administration.
They should also be able to communicate public policies and programs and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Candidates are to submit a comprehensive cv, copies of all necessary academic and professional certifications and transcripts, a valid national identification card or passport, letters of recommendation, and any other pertinent documentation in support of their application.
There are two acceptable methods of application submission, both of which should be clearly labeled “Application for the position of Chief Administrative Secretary.”
“Candidates should demonstrate their capacity to work under pressure to complete complicated tasks including engagement with several institutions and other public officers,” read the notice.
“They should show that they understand and uphold the ideals of public service and national values.”
A CAS will be responsible to the Cabinet Secretary in the performance of his/her duties.
Additionally, to provide liaison with the National Assembly and Senate on topics of concurrent mandate.
The tasks of a CAS will include responding to concerns and queries that are related to the portfolio that has been given to the office, as well as providing liaison with County Governments on the same issues.
