Protests rock Molo town following murder of prominent activist
Initial reports indicate that Richard Raymond Otieno might have been attacked by his assailants as he walked home last night.

Molo residents have staged demonstrations today following the murder of prominent youth leader and community mobiliser Richard Raymond Otieno.
They marched with the body on the streets of Molo town calling for justice before taking the body to the morgue.
Videos seen on social media by the Informer Media Group show the angry residents wailing as they marched on the road carrying his body.
Otieno, an activist and fierce critic of the Kenya Kwanza regime who goes by the alias Molo Prezident, was found murdered and his body dumped outside the gate of his rented house in unclear circumstances.
Initial reports indicate that the deceased might have been attacked by his assailants as he walked home last night.
He is suspected to have died from the injuries he sustained from the attack as the wounds were visible.
The police are yet to confirm details surrounding the death of the activist which has sent shockwaves to the Molo community.
The celebrated activist was tireless in his efforts to advocate for the rights of the youth, women, and marginalised groups.
His sociopolitical activism within Molo Constituency and Nakuru County earned him widespread respect and admiration.
Rift Valley regional commander Jasper Ombati has stated investigations are on to find those behind the murder and urged the locals to remain calm and allow the police to do their work.
Molo Member of Parliament Kimani Kuria has mourned Otieno’s demise, saying death has robbed Molo’s true son whose bravery, steadfastness, and courage even in times of adversity shall be missed.
“I have been in contact with the Rift Valley Regional Criminal Investigations Officer, the Nakuru County, and Molo security teams and demanded expeditious investigations into this matter.
I urge all of us to remain calm and give our investigative bodies time to conduct their investigations and bring the perpetrators to book,” Kimani stated.
