President Ruto commissions AAR level 5 hospital in Kiambu, says his government is committed to enhance health of all Kenyans
President William Ruto has today presided over the official opening of the AAR level 5 Hospital in Kiambu Road, Nairobi county.
Speaking during the event, the President said that such a facilitative framework will enhance the well-being of the people and added that the government will endeavor to lower the cost of medicines and medical commodities.
He said that the government will refine and repackage incentives to attract more healthcare providers in the country.
“Our vision is to enhance the health of every Kenyan in order to make them live longer, happier and more productive,” he said.
Our democracy is robust and accountable while the Judiciary is independent and effective. Kenya is a highly attractive investment spot,” he added.
The President noted that the government will intensify and sustain its commitment to improving Kenya’s economic competitiveness.
He assured investors that Kenya is a safe, secure, stable democratic state anchored on the rule of law.
The President further explained that the country has a well-developed legal system that guarantees the security of property rights.
“We are committed to the active promotion of a healthcare system that is robustly attentive to preventive and curative healthcare,” he said.
The construction of the AAR hospital started in 2019 and was built at a cost of Sh3.5billion and started receiving patients in 2021.
The hospital has a capacity of 140 beds, 4 operating theatres, 12 Intensive Care Unit beds, 9 bed high dependency unit and a modern neonatal ICU.
The renal unit has 11 beds with a capacity to dialyse over 40 patients in a day.
The hospital looks forward to serving 400 patients a day and employ 300 members of staff.
