Police kill two gangsters in Ruai

Two gangsters including a middle aged lady were today killed in a shoot out with police in a  botched robbery in Choka area within Nairobi’s Ruai area.

The duo were in company of two others who manged to escape with gunshot wounds.

Police recovered a Beretta Pistol loaded with six bullets.

“Our officers were tipped by members of the public that there were three men and a woman robbing pedestrians at gunpoint. When the officers visited the scene, they were challenged to surrender but instead engaged the officers in a shoot out. Two of them were fatally injured.” One of the officers said.

Police are grappling to contain rising wave of armed attacks within Ruai.

Two days ago, a security officer attached to State House Administrative Secretary John Makumi was shot twice to the head at Muhuri Muchiri within Ruai.

According to police preliminary findings, Administration Police Corporal Kennedy Nkune was attacked by three gunmen riding on a motorbike.

They made away with his Ceska Pistol, serial number F9441 loaded with 12 bullets of 9mm calibre.
Meanwhile, police are hunting down for four suspects who broke into Faulu Bank along Ngong Road and made away with an assortment of electronics on Tuesday at dawn.

The assailants gained access into the building after demolishing part of the perimeter wall and tied private guards manning the financial institution.

They then stole a TV set and laptops after they failed to break into the strong room where the money was kept.
