Police gunned down five suspected gangsters in two separate incidents in Nairobi and recovered two guns, a stolen vehicle and other personal effects on Monday night.
In the first incident, four suspected thugs were killed during a shootout with police in Kayole while robbing pedestrians at gun point.
A Handcuff, gun and a stolen car were recovered.
The slain criminals had carjacked a motorist before abandoning him in Dandora before the car was traced to Kayole where a shooting ensued.
They had changed the car registration number with two sets of fake number plates.
“The Toyota Voxy was later spotted in Kayole where the men were all shot as they ignored orders from police to surrender,” said Nairobi County Police Commander Japheth Koome.
And in the second incident, a suspect was killed in Shauri Moyo area and a gun found on him.
Police say the man known as Jackie was on a police watch list over a spate of armed robberies in the area.
