Omtatah goes to court to challenge Uhuru’s CAS position

Activist Okiya Omtatah has moved to court to challenge president Uhuru Kenyatta’s list of Cabinet members.

He says the position of Chief Administrative Secretary was reached without public participation.

Omtatah wants the court to quash the president’s decision and prohibit the speaker of the National Assembly from vetting the nominees.

Uhuru created the position across all the 22 Cabinet posts. He said holders of the new positions will be responsible for helping the cabinet secretaries coordinate the running of ministry affairs.
