Omanyala sets new world meeting record of 10.11 seconds in Italy
Kenyan sprint sensation Ferdinand Omanyala dashed into victory and set a new world meeting record of 10.11 seconds at the International Castiglione Athletic Meeting in Grosseto, Italy on Sunday.
The undisputed African fastest man set the record to beat the previously held Olympic record time of 10.31.
Omanyala also clipped an impressive jaw-dropping run in the 200 metres where he clocked an astonishing 20.50 seconds for the fête.
According to Omanyala his target this season still remains to run 9.77 and breaking Jamaican legend Usain Bolt’s record of 9.58 is not an exception to him.
The sprinter who doubles up as a policeman believes that the time is ripe for him to set a new world record.
Omanyala is currently toiling and is enjoying a wave of a winning streak and is setting grounds and looking forward to the Commonwealth Games and World Championship as well as the African Championship to be staged in Mauritius.
With the Olympics, the Commonwealth Games and the World Championships fast approaching Omanyala has promised to be at his best at these future grand events.
Omanyala will not shift focus to Dessau, Germany as part of the preparation for the upcoming races; the Ostrava Golden Spike in the Czech Republic and African Championships in Mauritius.
