Nine officers killed, seven injured in suicide bombing in southwest Pakistan

At least nine police officers have been killed and seven others wounded after a suspected suicide bomber riding on a motorcycle rammed into a police truck on a bridge in the district of Sibi in Baluchistan province, Pakistan.

Spokesman Mehmood Khan Notizai said that the attack took place in Sibbi, a city some 160 km (100 miles) east of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province.

The attack is the latest in a series targeting police personnel in Pakistan.

Local police chief Mahmood Notenzai said the officers were on a routine patrol when the attack happened.

The casualties have been taken to a nearby hospital, he added.
