Netizens slam Shujaa player Ombachi after releasing viral video of him tossing son into swimming pool

Kenya sevens utility player Dennis Ombachi has sent social media into frenzy after he released a video of him tossing his one-year-old son into a swimming pool.

In the viral video the Olympian is seen embracing his son, before throwing him into the pool.

This did not go down well with some netizens as Ombachi was slammed for poor parenting with some lauding his efforts to teach his son how to swim at an early age.

However, according to Ombachi, he had been taking his son through water safety classes for the past four weeks, and he finally graduated. The youngster will be turning two years old this September.

“Four weeks since we started water safety classes and my son graduated today, officially WATER SAFE! Last class he gets to go in with four layers of clothing including two nappies, more than doubling his weight in water. Proud father,” Ombachi said.

To netizens’ surprise, it was not only his son who was graduating on water safety classes but also his 8-months old daughter who is the only member of his family that can’t swim.

“Graduating as well was our 8-month-old daughter, officially the only one who can’t swim in here,” Ombachi added.

Netizens took the opportunity to hilariously respond to the video some have totally disapproved of the risky move.

“In medicine, we handle kids and adults different. Pain management isn’t equal in an adult writhing in pain and an infant on the same. Paediatrics is so minor bana. CPR is different in kids too. Phlebotomy maybe would make you understand. That Ombachi guy is so ignorant. Silly!” Jeff Doc said on Twitter.
