Murunga’s wife seeks to overturn blocked burial for the MP
The ongoing paternity row pitting the late Matungu Member of Parliament(MP) Justus Murunga persists after his widow Christabel Murunga filed an application seeking to overturn a court order that blocked his burial set for November 28.
Through her lawyer, Patrick Lutta, Christabel says the order obtained by Agnes Wangui who claims to have two children with the deceased has caused the family a lot of anxiety and ought to varied.
Magistrate Agnes Makau last week issued an order barring the burial and set the hearing date for November 27 on the woman’s plea for DNA on her two daughters to confirm paternity.
The widow says in the application that Wambiri should be compelled to deposit Sh 10 million being the cost of the litigation before the court.
In the application, the widow said the family has already set burial arrangement scheduled for 27th and 28th November which without delay should be allowed to proceed.

The MP collapsed at his home on Saturday while in the company of his bodyguard and a domestic worker.
He died as he was being rushed to hospital due to breathing complications associated with Covid-19 infection.
