Two suspected thugs are in custody after stealing from a woman in Kasarani.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the suspects snatched the woman’s bag and mobile phone as she walked home at Seasons area in Kasarani sub-county last Friday evening.
The suspects were chased by boda boda riders who were responding to the victim’s cry for help.
“In the ensuing melee, the woman raised alarm attracting the attention of nduthi men who were meters away, jostling for the hard-to-find wathii who would occasionally be dropped off by matatus, and opt to take a bike home. Following the incident, the nduthi men immediately roared their bikes to life and gave chase after the two thugs who took flight towards Hunters,” stated DCI.
The riders chased the duo towards Hunters where they finally caught up with them and descended on the suspects with kicks and blows.
One of the suspect’s jaw was disfigured and the other suffered disjointed limbs and a swollen eye.
“The remaining thug was floored a few steps away after another nduthi man went for his jugular almost choking life out of him,” read the DCI statement.
Luckily, sleuths patrolling the area rescued the suspects from the angry mob.
The woman has since recovered her valuables.
However, DCI cautioned members of the public against taking matters into their own hands.
