MKU, Bradford foundation patners in International Junior Nurse Fellowship

Mount Kenya University and Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust have come together to develop an International Junior Nurse Fellowship (IJNF) in response to the Nursing Now Challenge.
According to MKU, the 12-month fellowship programme will be delivered virtually with early career nurses and student nurses learning and sharing together as a joint cohort across both countries.
“As part of the fellowship each individual will produce a robust research proposal (which they will implement during the 12 months) to enable a fantastic opportunity to feed outputs back into their respective organisations and share across the NNC global platform,” states the institution.
The IJNF will be delivered virtually with 10 early career nurses (in Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust) and 10 senior student nurses (in Mount Kenya University).
Learners will continue their academic studies if a student and remain in their substantive post if a BDCFT registered nurse/nursing associate.
However, each participant must have support from their line manager/academic tutor for protected time of one day each month to attend each virtual workshop.
The first cohort will be limited to 10 registered nurses/nursing associates from BDCFT and 10 senior nursing students from Kenya.
