Man chains himself at DP Ruto’s gate demanding for a job

A man chained himself at Deputy President William Ruto’s Harambee House Annex office gate demanding for a job promise.
Lawrence Amuke Oprong, the son of the late Busia North legislator Fredrick Oduya Oprong, chained chained his waist to the gate grills demanding to see Ruto after a job promise.
He cited that the second in command had promised him a job but had failed to deliver on his promise.
He consequently stated that he would only leave the premises after Ruto personally addressed his grievances.
Attempts to remove Amuke bored no fruit until a squad of 20 plainclothes police officers managed to do so after breaking the chain with a hacksaw.
He was then taken to Central Police Station where he was released after recording a statement.
However, it is not clear when and how the DP met the man and promised him the job that the man is desperately seeking.
Ruto’s spokesperson Emmanuel Talam said the issue has been handled.
“DP has sorted the issued and asked his office to handle the young man’s case,” Talam said.
