Man caught selling dog meat in Nyandarua County

A bizarre incident was witnessed yesterday after a man was arrested hawking dog meat to unsuspecting would be customers within Wanjohi area in Nyandarua County.

Ndirangu Wahome seized selling fried dog meat while a torso of slaughtered dog, blood stained knife and sufuria used to cook the unusual ‘delicacy’ were found within his compound.

Another dog suspected to have been earmarked for slaughter and a chain used to trap the pet animals, rolls of bhang, blood stained panga were also recovered.

“We became suspicious of the meat because the bones does not resemble that of a goat. We fear this is something he has been doing and unsuspecting people might have consumed dog meat unknowingly.” One of the witnesses told The Informer.

They will be used as exhibits once he’s arraigned today.

The suspect is being held at Wanjohi Police Station for pre-charge processing pending his arraignment.

He will be charged before Nyahururu Law Courts today.
