Lawyer Angela Mulwa charged over alleged Sh15million Range Rover theft
The two appeared before the court on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 and denied charges of stealing the vehicle, conspiracy to commit a felony, handling stolen property and malicious damage to property.
Embattled lawyer Angela Mulwa and her co-accused, Nelson Masiga, have been charged at the Mavoko Law Courts over the alleged theft of a Range Rover Sport valued at Sh15 million.
The two appeared before the court on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 and denied charges of stealing the vehicle, conspiracy to commit a felony, handling stolen property and malicious damage to property.
The prosecution alleges that Mulwa and Masiga, together with others who have not been brought before the court, stole the Range Rover Sport on February 12, 2026, at Mlolongo in Machakos County.
The vehicle is said to belong to the Africa Institute of Mental and Brain Health and was allegedly parked at the homestead of Professor David Musyimi Ndetei, a director of the institute.
The charge sheet states:
“On February 12, 2026 at Mlolongo within Machakos County with others not before court stole a motor vehicle Range Rover Sport valued at Sh15 million, property of Africa Institute of Mental and Brain Health which was parked at the homestead of Professor David Musyimi Ndetei, a director of the said institute.”
Mulwa and Masiga face an alternative charge of handling stolen property.
The prosecution alleges that on August 1, 2026, the two were found in possession of the same Range Rover at Rose Residential Homes in Karen, Nairobi County.
According to the prosecution, they knew or had reason to believe that the vehicle had been stolen.
The two also face a separate charge of malicious damage to property.
They are accused of damaging a house valued at Sh56 million, which the prosecution says belongs to Professor David Musyimi Ndetei.
Mulwa and Masiga denied all the charges and pleaded not guilty when they were read to them.
The court directed that a pre-bail report be prepared before determining whether the accused should be released on bail or bond.
The report will provide the court with information to guide its decision on the appropriate terms of release.
Pending the determination, the two were ordered to remain in custody.
The case will be mentioned on September 9, 2026, for further directions.
