Kijabe Mission Hospital unveils satellite clinic in Westlands

Africa Inland Church Kijabe Mission Hospital today unveiled another satellite clinic, Nairobi Medical Centre (NMC) in a bid to decentralise its health services in the country.

NMC located in Westlands, on Azuri Towers, would be the third satellite centre and comes ten years after Marira clinic, located on the Nakuru-Naivasha Highway and Naivasha medical centre.

Speaking today at a Nairobi hotel, AIC Kijabe hospital CEO Dr Ken Muma said the hospital has been on a growth trajectory, having moved from a single building facility to become a 350 bed complex.

Dr. Muma further said the hospital now caters for at least 180, 000 outpatients and   1, 400 inpatients annually and that the launch of NMC was aimed at decongesting Kijabe Hospital.

“Kijabe hospital is making a contribution in meeting the needs of health care services through offering excellent medical care and training,” Dr. Muma said.

Director of Medical services Jackson Kioko urged AIC Kijabe to make more Kenyans aware of its services so as to reduce the large number of patients going abroad to seek medical treatment which the hospital could otherwise offer.
