Kiambu parents want all headteachers in the county transferred

Parents in Kiambu have petitioned the Education Ministry to consider a major transfer of all head teachers and non performing teachers from the county due to poor performance in national examination.

They  said that thousands of students continued to ‘suffer’ after registering dismal results in successive years noting that head teachers and their juniors are to blame and should therefore be held accountable.

Speaking at Kagwe Girls high school in Lari sub-county yesterday, the concerned parents said that it was disheartening to see their children performing poorly despite their investing heavily in cost sharing and other remedial activities in respective schools.

They called on Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi to order the transfer of all the head teachers in the county as well as reshuffles teachers noting that complacency and overstaying in given stations had made them look like village elders who dine and wine with locals.

Lari Resort Trust member Wilson Gachagui who was  spoke during the thanks giving ceremony where head teachers from the best performing secondary schools were awarded rubbished the ceremony terming it as a mockery to the students and parents.
