Kiambu governor Wamatangi mourns the passing of his sister Winnie Nyambura

Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi is mourning the passing of his sister Winnie Nyambura.

In a short statement shared on his social media, the Kiambu governor expressed his grief over the loss of his beloved sibling, acknowledging the painful reality of death while finding solace in faith.

“Death is cruel. It takes from us the people we love and cherish, leaving a hurting void. But we have to accept the will of God because it’s in him; we take comfort during such times. Rest in eternal peace, my sister, Winnie Peninah Nyambura. As a family, we cherish the times God allowed us to be together. Go well, Nyambura,” the governor has stated.

Condoling with the family of the Kiambu governor, President William Ruto has extended his condolences to the grieving family and offered prayers and support during this difficult period.

“May the Lord grant Governor Kimani Wamatangi strength to bear with the loss of his dear sister, Winnie Nyambura,” the Head of State has shared.

The death of the governor’s sister comes hours after the family of the National Assembly Majority leader and Kikuyu Member of Parliament, Kimani Ichung’wah, was thrown into mourning over the passing of his father, Ngugi Ichung’wah.

In his message to the family of the Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wah, the head of state remembered the old man as an industrious businessman who touched the lives of many.

“He was an industrious and astute businessman and one of the brains who founded Kikuyu Town. Mzee touched many lives through his many transformative initiatives that supported the vulnerable. His legacy will live on,” the president has shared.

“Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends on the passing of Mzee Isaac Ngugi, the father of Kimani Ichung’wah,” he added.

On his part, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula celebrated the 100+ years of life of the old man, saying Celebrate his lasting impact will continue to be felt and his legacy cherished for generations to come.

“As we celebrate a life well lived, we pray that his lasting impact will continue to be felt and his legacy cherished for generations to come. May the fond memories of his century-long journey bring comfort to his family during this time of grief,” Wetang’ula stated in his condolence message to the Ichung’wah family.
