Kembi urges Nyeri residents to vote wisely in August

Murang’a senator Kembi Gitura has urged the locals to carefully scrutinize the leaders they will elect come August.

The senator said some leaders eying for various seats are out to settle political scores but not to serve people’s interests.

Kembi took a swipe with his opponent Irungu Kang’ata who he accused of leading protests against independent candidates and other government officials during the president’s visit last week.

He said the Mp had no right to demand for the ejection of some leaders from the meeting which was supposed to be a platform to discuss the county affairs.

The chaos led to the cancellation of the meeting and thus the leaders could not have a one on one talk with the president.

Kembi who is also senate deputy speaker said he had been invited to the president’s tour as part of the leadership of the county.

“I was invited to that meeting because it was supposed to be a leader’s forum and I am the senator for Murang’a representing the interest of the people” he remarked.

Kembi termed the move as unfortunate saying the fracas staged at Blue post hotel did not send a good precedence of the leaders here.
