KDF officers feared dead after military chopper crashes in Ngong

Seventeen Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers are feared dead after an 171e Air Force Helicopter crashed while on a training mission in Ol Tepesi area in Ngong, Kajiado County.

However, sources indicate six of them have been rescued and airlifted to Nairobi for emergency treatment.

At the time of the crash, 23 officers are believed to have been on board.

An update from the Department of Defence indicate rescue operation is underway.

“Today at around 0900hours, an Mi 171e Air Force Helicopter, on a training mission crash landed at the Ol Tepesi area in Ngong, Kajiado County. Rescue missions are underway.” A situational update from DoD reads in part.
