A team of detectives in Eldoret working in collaboration with their counterparts from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) from Eldoret based Moi Barrack Training School today arrested a middle aged man for posing as a soldier.
The suspected is said to have been conning desperate youths yearning to join the force despite the fact that the recruitment exercise ended two weeks ago.
The man was reportedly nabbed in the morning while taking breakfast in one of the posh hotels in Eldoret town and taken to police custody where he is helping them with investigations into the matter.
Eldoret West OCPD Samuel Mutunga said during the arrest, they recovered Sh 726,000 from the suspect alleged to have been received from unsuspecting youth so that he could secure them slots in KDF.
