Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya deputy presidential candidate Martha Karua has thanked the incoming leaders and those who lost under the coalition for always heeding to their call when called upon.
Presiding over the inaugural conference for elected Azimio leaders on Saturday, Karua hailed various aspirants under the coalition who were unsuccessful in the just concluded General Election.
During the conference, which she termed a ‘meet and great’, held for all the coalition’s elected leaders, Karua thanked the delegates for mobilising electorates to turn up in large numbers in support of their presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
Karua notes that even in the areas where Azimio did not get electoral seats, the votes still streamed in. She was confident that Azimio would carry the day and hailed the unsuccessful aspirants calling them heroes for standing with the coalition’s leader.
“I want you to feel appreciated and together we are going to take the next steps and form a formidable coalition that will transform our landscape and ensure that our nation is peaceful,” she said.
“Looking at all angles including all the electoral seats combined, there is no way, no way, the tally can be against us,” said Karua.
“We are now waiting for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to be call the election in our favour,” she said.
