Jumwa, Omanga, Bosire land State jobs in latest appointments
She was among CSs who were dropped following widespread anti-government protests led by Ge Zs last year.

Former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa, ODM National Treasurer Timothy Bosire and former Nominated Senator Beatrice Omanga are among politicians who have been given State jobs in the latest appointments announced on Friday.
Following up on his promise while on a tour of Kilifi County that he will not leave Jumwa out of his government, President William Ruto has named her the non-executive chairperson for the Kenya Roads Board for a period of three years.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 (1) (a) of the Kenya Roads Board Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I appoint Aisha Jumwa Katana to be the non-executive Chairperson of the Kenya Roads Board, for three (3) years, with effect from January 17, 2025,” president Ruto said in the notice.
Jumwa takes over from Ahmed Kolosh whose tenure was revoked by the president.
At a function in Watamu during the Kilifi tour, Ruto had said: “I want to tell you that I will not leave my sister Aisha Jumwa out of my government. She is my sister; she will walk with me.”
Jumwa was among CSs who were dropped following widespread anti-government protests led by Ge Zs last year.
Omanga, who lost in her bid to unseat Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris in the last elections, has been appointed a member of the Board of Directors at Kenya Shipyard Limited by Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya.
Omanga’s tenure began on January 14, 2025, as per the gazette notice.
This marks the third time Omanga is being given a role in government under Ruto’s administration.
In October 2024, she was appointed as a member of the Nairobi Rivers Commission, chaired by former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.
However, Omanga declined the position, citing personal reasons.
Earlier on, she had been appointed as Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Interior was nullified in June 2023 after the High Court ruled the positions unconstitutional.
Bosire, a former Kitutu Masaba MP, has been appointed by President Ruto to lead the Board of Directors of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) as its non-executive chairperson.
His appointment appears to be aimed at calming the Gusii region following discontent that ODM leader Raila Odinga has been giving all the positions negotiated with Ruto in the wake the formation of the broad-based government to his Luo Nyanza backyard.
George Wanga, the husband to Homabay governor Gladys Wanga, who has emerged as a close confidante of Ruto, will serve as chair of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) for the same duration.
Additionally, President Ruto appointed Edwin Sudi Wandabusi, Kadhua Jimmy Kahindi, and Ahmed Kolosh Mohamed as non-executive Chairpersons of the Kenya Film Commission, Kenya Fishing Industries Corporation, and Kenya Maritime Authority respectively, for three years.
Mohamed Ibrahim Elmi was appointed as the non-executive Chairperson of the National Livestock Development and Promotion Service while Daniel Mwirigi M’amanja will now serve as the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS)’s non-executive chairperson, both for a period of three years.
CS Tuya also reappointed Maryanne Karanja as a member of the Kenya Shipyard Limited Board for another three-year term.
