Highly disintegrated President Uhuru Kenyatta’s led Jubilee Party has announced that it will convene National Delegates Conference on November 30, 2021 at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.
In a notice, the party national Secretary General, Raphael Tuju, said the party will review, formulate and approve all policies of the party.
They will also consider, amend or ratify the party’s regulations to ensure compliance with the Constitution, the Political Parties Act and the Elections Act.
“To consider other matters referred to the NDC by the National Executive Committee or the National Governing Council,” read the notice.
This comes a week after the party announced plans to kick out Deputy President William Ruto.
The party is seeking to revoke Ruto’s membership and endorse a coalition deal with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.
We are preparing for our National Delegates Conference, which is the highest organ of the party. It is for that reason that we decided to have a broader deliberation that involves the NMC and parliamentary leadership,” he said.
“It’s in the Constitution that those who don’t subscribe to party policies are let go. That should concern you as much as it concerns us. The NDC is the highest party organ and whatever it decides prevails.”
Jubilee and ODM have since drafted an agreement to field a joint presidential candidate in next year’s polls.
