I’m not one of Jubilee sponsors, KRA boss says

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Commissioner General John Njiraini has today vehemently denied that he’s one of the signatory of the super-rich club sponsoring re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta commonly known as The Mt Kenya Foundation.

According to commissioner general he’s neither a signatory nor a member of the organization that has become a political rod in the region.

Speaking to press at Sagana town, Njiraiini termed claim by the section of the media that hes a member of the club as misleading pointing that it’s aimed at discrediting the government.

He said that those peddling rumors have not made any contact with him to confirm the true position

Accompanied by Interior principal secretary Karanja Kibicho the two however revealed that they fully support President Uhuru Kenyatta re-election and dismissed The Commission on Administrative Justice (the Ombudsman) claims that they are using State resources in political campaigns.

The two top government officers said that the government officials are out to explain the government achievements terming their claims as farfetched.

Recently Ombudsman called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to take action against any political party or candidate “proven to have aided or abetted the participation of public officers or use of public resources in political activities”.

Njiraiini accused opposition on thriving with lies with the aim of tarnishing Jubilee government.

Interior PS Karanja Kibicho on his part has warned media owners and practitioners to desist from announcing General Election before official IEBC results are announced.

He said that if not well governed the media can ignite violence the same way they did in 2007 General Election.

He warned that those who will be found inciting violence the government will move in and switch off their broadcast.

‘’We can’t allow few individuals to burn our country this election, freedom must come with responsibility, as a government we will not sit down and allow a section of the media burn the country’’. He warned.
