United States (US) Ambassador to Kenya Her Excellency Margaret Whitman has stated that she is prepared to assume the position and represent the interests of Kenyan and American people.
Through her social handle, Whitman said she is thrilled to maintain the excellent relationship that America has had with Kenya throughout the years.
“What I know from 40 years of business experience is always about the people, the people in your team, the people you are trying to serve and the ones you surround yourself with,” she said.
Whitman emphasised how significant Kenya’s economy is to the global economy.
The ambassador emphasised that she will do everything in her power to advance the interests of both the US and Kenyan peoples.
“Africa is such an important continent and Kenya is one of the countries leading in economy and democracy in Africa which is unbelievably important worldwide,” she stated.
Just two months ago, Whitman was officially confirmed by the US Senate to serve as the ambassador to the Republic of Kenya.
On July 14, 2022, Meg was appointed to the position by President Joe Biden and was subsequently confirmed by the Foreign Relations committee.
Whitman pledged to solve the difficulties with applying for visas that had been a worry for the majority of Kenyans who wanted to travel to the US in her inaugural address to Kenyans.
The earliest date for a visa interview, according to the embassy website at the time, was in 2024.
