‘I have cows’: Kalonzo posts photo of him herding his animals as he claps back at Ruto
On Wednesday, the president dismissed Wiper leader as a ndegu farmer for opposing livestock vaccination drive
A day after President William Ruto stepped up his criticism of those opposed to the nationwide livestock vaccination dismissing Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka as a ndengu farmer, the former vice president has clapped back by reposting a photo of him herding cattle at his Yatta farm.
Yesterday, Ruto, who is on a tour of northeastern Kenya dismissed critics of the programme, saying they have no knowledge on livestock keeping while denying reports that Facebook billionaire Bill Gates is behind it.
“Why would you listen to a ndengu farmer telling you not to vaccinate your cows? He does not have any cows himself. He is talking about Bill Gates, is Bill Gates in Garrisa?” the President paused at a public rally.
Ruto said there is no foreign involvement in the vaccination drive, saying it is being undertaken by local veterinary doctors using vaccines developed at the Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute in Kabete.
Today, the president continued with his defence of the initiative, which he says will enhance meat and milk exports, saying those criticising it are people with little knowledge.
“If we sell our meat internationally, is there a problem? If we sell our milK abroad, is there a problem? I see that there are people who are complaining, and I don’t know where they learned. Don’t I have a PhD? I know what is happening in Kenya. Now those with little education are trying to teach me. What are you teaching me?” he posed.
The photo of Kalonzo looking after his cows was first posted on X (formerly Twitter) in May 2022 when he took a break from the campaign trail to spend time at the 200-acre farm, where he also engages in other activities insulting growing vegetables and rearing poultry.
