I have been offered Sh200million to drop out of presidential race, Wajackoyah claims
Roots Party presidential flagbearer George Wajackoyah has reportedly said he was offered Sh200million to give up his bid for the big office in the land – the presidency.
The renowned attorney claimed a group of powerful people who approached him with monetary offers was determined to force him out of the presidential race.
At a Roysambu entertainment venue, Wajackoyah, who made the accusations, claimed that his political rivals felt scared by his increasing popularity and were trying to get him to withdraw from the race.
He declined bribery attempt, claiming he was committed to achieving the greatest office in the land and that he would fight to the bitter end.
“Recently they came to my place and said that this Wajackoyah, why don’t we just pay him Sh200million so that he can drop his bid,” Wajackoyah said in a viral video.
“I looked at them and told them that I am the most learned man in Africa and I cannot be compromised. I have worked in higher places like the United Kingdom and I can never betray the cause of young people.”
Wajackoyah claimed that his attempt at the State House race had put the campaigns of the two front-runners, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition flagbearer Raila Odinga and his Kenya Kwanza counterpart Deputy President William Ruto, in jeopardy despite failing to identify the candidate responsible for the alleged bribe.
He reprimanded the two leaders, stating that someone else should now liberate Kenya’s people instead of the pair who, in his view, had long controlled the nation’s affairs.
