Are you shedding skin cells throughout the day? Is it hard to keep your skin glowing and in good condition?
Think of the skincare routine as a daily procedure in many setting,
dermatologists believe that skincare routine is part of the treatment of
wound healing, radiation therapy , and some medication.
No matter what your skin is, a daily skincare routine can help you
maintain overall skin health and improve specific concerns like acne,
scarring and dark spots.
Skincare routine has four basic steps done in the morning and once
before you sleep.
The steps are cleaning, toning, moisturising and application of
sunscreen:
Cleansing
This is the first and most important step of a good skincare routine.
It requires the use of a gentle and fragrance-free cleanser based on your
skin type.
Wash your face gently with lukewarm or cold water. One is
also advised to avoid using hot water or washing your face too often
because it may strip moisture from your skin.
Alcohol and fragrance-free cleansers are particularly beneficial for
people with dry skin while people with oily skin should use oil-free
cleansers and for sensitive skin, they should avoid fragrances, alcohol,
and soap.
Cleansers with oatmeal, green tea extracts, chamomile, and aloe Vera may
be good for sensitive skin.
Once the face is clean it is advised not to rub your skin, one is
required to dry it off politely with a towel or let the skin dry on its
own.
Toning
Toning which comes second particularly helps people with oily skin.
Toner helps remove dirt and any residual makeup you may have on your
face.
Moisturising
Moisturising helps keep your skin soft and supple. Use a gel-based
moisturiser if you have oily skin. Massage your face gently with the
moisturiser while your skin is a little damp.
Application
Application which is the last stage where sunscreen is much needed as it
helps protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun. This helps
prevent sun spots, signs of aging , and even skin cancer.
“Choose a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with a sun
the protection factor of 30 or higher and apply the sunscreen especially
when going outdoors during the day and reapply as required.
Your scarves, hats, and shades do not protect your skin as effectively as
sunscreen,” dermatologist advice.
While these are some of the basic steps of a skincare routine, one
might also use other products, such as serums, oils, or night creams,
based on your skin needs. Avoid using too many products or cosmetics on
your skin.
