Governor Wambora to recruit nurses on short term contracts
Embu governor Martin Wambora has revealed that his government will now embark on recruiting nurses on a short term contracts to curb effects of strike of nurses ongoing across the country.
Wambora said the measures will ensure that patients will continue to receive services in all public hospitals and save patients the agony of seeking treatment in private hospitals which is expensive.
Speaking after he launched a school milk programme at Embu county primary school Wambora said that governors have given Salaries and Remunerations Commission the mandate to resolve the nurses strike.
He said that counties have tried to engage the nurses to end the stalemate without success and there is need to embrace short term nurses as well as community nurses to continue with offering their services in the public hospitals.
Wambora said his government has made a big milestone in health sectors despite political instability in the county where he was impeached twice by the county assembly.
He said that if elected he will complete all the hospital projects which he initiated in the last four years where most of the hospitals are well equipped under his leadership.
