Government declares Wednesday 25th as public holiday
Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has, in a gazette notice, declared Wednesday, October 25 a public holiday.
According to the notice, the public holiday is to accord Kenyans the opportunity to participate in the fresh presidential election on Thursday, 26th October.
“In exercise of powers conferred by section 3 of the Public Holidays Act, Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, declares that Wednesday, the 25th October, 2017 be a public holiday to accord Kenyans the opportunity to participate in the Fresh Presidential Election,” read the gazette notice.
The Government had, last week, declared Thursday October 26th as public holiday to allow Kenyans to exercise their right to choose their leader.
