Four suspects linked to a series of robberies in different parts of Nairobi have been shot and killed in separate incidents as police intensify war on armed crime in the city.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), detectives recovered three pistols with ten bullets from the slain men.

Detectives said that the weapons have been used in committing crimes in the city.

According to DCI, one of the suspects who was gunned down has been notorious for terrorising residents of Dandora.

DCI stated that the suspect and his accomplices were notorious for attacking and robbing pedestrians.

However, the other accomplices managed to escape.

Additionally, two other suspects were killed in Shauri Moyo area during a botched robbery.

Detectives said the two were part of a gang that had been attacking and robbing pedestrians at about 5 am when an alarm was raised and alerted police who were on patrol.

The officers rushed to the rescue of a female pedestrian who was under attack and felled two suspects after they refused to surrender as ordered.

Detectives further recovered a browning pistol on the slain suspects.

The fourth suspect was killed in Kasarani area where he and his accomplices who managed to escape had allegedly been attacking pedestrians.

Similarly, detectives recovered a pistol from the slain suspect.

The bodies of the four suspects were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
