Expulsion of 70 KCSE students reversed, to face charges after exams

The expulsion of the seventy Form Four students from the Anestar Boys High School in Nakuru has been reversed.
Speaking at the Anerstar Boys today morning, University Education and Research Principal Secretary Amb. Simon Nabukwesi stated that the about turn was made after consultations with the County Director of Education, the County Commissioner and other stakeholders.
However, the group will face charges once their exams are finished and the probe into the matter is completed.
“They will face the law, there is no exemption for that, but they will have their certificates so that they can be corrected to become better people,” Nabukwesi said.
They will also be barred from receiving Certificates of Good Conduct until they are deemed reformed.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the boys whose mission still remains unclear, had sneaked out of their school in their numbers and gained access to the girls’ dormitory under the cover of darkness.
Officers from Githioro Police Station responded swiftly and rushed to the school after the girls raised alarm.
“But not even the arrival of our men would scare away the defiant boys who kept hovering around the dormitory forcing one of the officers to fire a round in the air to scare them away,” read the DCI tweet.
During the incident, 10 boys were arrested while 60 others were arrested on Friday morning as they attempted to sneak back into their school.
