A 21-year-old lady is in police custody after she was nabbed in Kibichoi, Kiambu county with a consignment of 810 marijuana rolls.
Rosemary Waithera Ngige was arrested on Saturday after a member of the public alerted local police to possible drug trafficking at Ngige’s residence.
The raid on the alleged drug peddler’s house took place in Thuita village in the Komothai district.
The operations were carried out as a result of a tip from a concerned member of the public, according to the National Police Service.
“Police officers from Kibichoi Police Station, Kiambu County, conducted an intelligence-led operation to rid their station area of illicit brew and illegal drugs earlier today… The culprit was arrested and a haul of 810 rolls of bhang recovered,” a report from the National Police Service stated.
Families have suffered as a result of drug and narcotic abuse as most victims become less productive and reliant on them for survival.
Victims are also at risk of developing and spreading communicable diseases as a result of the vice.
