Do not be swayed by Azimio’s antics, DP Gachagua tells President Ruto

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has told off Azimio One Kenya coalition for their continued protests aimed at destabilising the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Speaking during a thanksgiving service in Tharaka Nithi county, Gachagua called on President William Ruto to stand firm and not to give in to any negotiation with the Raila-led opposition party.

“They have a history of destroying governments, they made noises and after being brought in the past governments, they destroyed it,” he said.

He said that the opposition party were clueless for persisting in their quest to declare President Ruto’s administration as illegitimate.

The opposition has continued to push for anti-government mass protests and product boycotts.

The culmination of countrywide protests will be announced on March 20, 2023 when they Azimio brigade is scheduled to hold a mass rally in Nairobi.

However, President Ruto has been categorically telling off the opposition leader that the government will not entertain any unlawful acts.

Instead, the president challenged the opposition to use the legal means to address the issues and hold the government accountable as opposed to extra-constitutional means.
