Cop arrested for allegedly breaking into OCS office, stealing Sh71,000 in Masii
A cop based in Masii, Machakos county, is in custody for allegedly breaking into Officer Commanding Station (OCS) office and stealing money.
According to preliminary report, officer Paul Chege, who was on duty yesterday, broke OCS table drawers accessing a cash bail book containing Sh71,000.
“The officer while on duty at report office, yesterday at around 0700 hours, broke and entered into the OCS office at Masii police station. He broke the OCS table drawers and accessed a cash bail book containing Sh71,000 and stole the cash,” the report read.
Upon arrest and a search at his house, the police recovered two 7.62 ×51 mm blanks and a teargas canister.
“He will appear before Machakos magistrates court on August 29, 2022,” the report further read.
The officer will answer to charges of office breaking and committing a felony contrary to section 306 (a) of the penal code.
