Man kill his 12-year-old stepson, commits suicide in Laikipia

A 42-year-old man has allegedly killed his twelve-year-old stepson and committed suicide in Naitoria village of Karaba location within Laikipia West sub-county. 

Joseph Mwangi Maina hanged the body of his son, Franklin Wamae, on a tree by the neck using a manilla rope before he committed suicide by hanging himself on the same tree. 

“His mobile phone, make Sicco E2160, was recovered from the main house located 10 metres from the scene,” read police report.  

From the chats with his wife, Sera Waithiega, Mwangi had directed her to get a suicide note on a woofer located on a cupboard where he accused his wife of infidelity. 

“The suicide note was recovered whereby he was accusing his wife of infidelity,” the report further indicated. 

The police recovered (two manilla ropes, mobile phone, a suicide note, and a yellow 20litres jerrican used to climb and suspend himself on the tree) at the scene of crime. 

The bodies were moved to Sipili funeral home awaiting autopsy.
