Construction firm wins Sh754 million deal for road maintenance

A construction firm has bagged a deal worth Sh754.4 million to maintain the Thika-Kenol highway. Debroso Construction Company Limited shall maintain the road which links Nairobi to Central Kenya.

This is the second contract that little-known company is getting. Two years ago, it was awarded a Sh1 billion contract to maintain a Nairobi-Thika Highway section.

The first section of the road starts at the Delmonte area and ends at Kenol covering a total area of 11 kilometres in one direction with another 22km of dual carriage.

Debroso beat three rivals to clinch the deal. It made it through the preliminary evaluation stage of the contract bidding and was later awarded a 75 percent score in the technical evaluation.

Debroso’s bid was the second-lowest fee compared to the other companies that had bid to maintain the road.
