Police in Nakuru hunt man belived to have stabbed wife aged 41 years to death

Detectives in Nakuru County are hunting down a runaway murder suspect who is believed to have stabbed his wife to death before escaping.

According to preliminary police findings, Thomas Njuguna suspected to have committed the heinous act owing to wife marital disputes before he went into hiding.

The lifeless body of Winnie Chepkirui was found on March 3, 2023 soaked in a pool of blood in her kids’ bedroom.

“Preliminary investigations point out to a dangerous suspect on the run who has been sending death threats to relatives who have stepped in to care for his kids. We appeal to anyone who may have information that could assist in tracking down the suspect to report at any police.” An update by the DCI read in part.

In what points to a murder most foul and macabre killing, the body sustained multiple deep stab wounds on the belly, chest and face inflicted through repeated stabbing.

According to the DCI, the suspect is believed to have fled the scene immediately after murdering her.

The DCI is now appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist in tracking down the suspect to report at any police station or fichua kwa DCI anonymously by dialling the Hotline no. 0800 722 203 which is operational round the clock.
