Chinese firm constructing collapsed Sh1.2B Sigiri bridge accepts responsibility

The Chinese firm constructing a Sh1.2 billion bridge that mysteriously collapsed on Monday in Budalang’i today  accepted responsibility over the incident as the local MP Ababu Namwamba assured the residents that it would be reconstructed again.

According to Ababu President Uhuru Kenyatta had assured him that  the government will foot the hospital bills of the 27 victims who were injured during the tragedy.

Addressing journalists at the scene of the tragedy, Namwamba accused NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga for alleging that the Bridge collapsed as a result of shoddy job which was caused because of corruption.

Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba  has assured Budalangi constituency residents that the Sh 1.2 Billion Sigiri Bridge which collapsed on Monday will be reconstructed again.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured Budalangi constituency residents that the Sh I.2 Billion Sigiri Bridge which collapsed on Monday will be reconstructed again” said Namwamba.

Namwamba who is also the leader of Labour Party of Kenya (LPK)  said that it was unfortunate that Raila was celebrating because of the tragedy instead of consoling victims who were injured.
