CDF General Kibochi host Somalia National Armed Forces Commander

The Kenya Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) General Robert Kibochi has yesterday hosted the Commander of Somalia National Armed Forces Brigadier General Odawa Yusuf Rage who paid him a courtesy call at the Department of Defence (DoD) headquarters in Nairobi.

Brigadier General Odawa inspected a half Guard of Honour mounted by the Kenya Army troops and later held a meeting on issues of mutual interest between the two countries and explored viable areas of cooperation and partnerships on security matters.

The two army chiefs agreed on a defence and mutual security cooperation to boost security between the two country.

Kenya through the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops has been supportive in achieving peace efforts in Somalia particularly to neutralise the threat posed by the Al Shaab insurgents.

KDF is operating under African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) that transitioned from the defunct African Peacekeeping Mission Force in Somalia (AMISOM).

Present during the meeting were Vice Chief of the Defence Forces Lieutenant General Francis Ogolla, Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General Peter Njiiru, General Officers and Senior Officers at the Defence Headquarters.
