Council of Governors have told off Devolution CS Mwangi Kiunjuri over his utterances county government transition to new administration.
COG chairman Josphat Nanok said Kiunjuri is only a member of the committee and therefore has no place in supervising County Governments or dictating the programme of the swearing in of the Governors.
Nanok, particularly took issue with pension of county chiefs saying Kiunjuri has no locus to delve into it. “Kiunjuri has no locus to delve into pension matters of governors. Those are strictly county issues,”said Nanok.
The Turkana Governor elect state the CS has no role in accountability as the oversight bodies are the senate , county assemblies, the Director of Public Prosecution and Ethic Anti- Corruption Commission.
“It’s in bad faith for the CS to demand that outgoing governors present themselves before parliamentary committee when summoned, obvious of the recent court decision,”he added.
