MKU hosts international conference on entrepreneural universities in Africa

Mount Kenya University (MKU) is hosting ten universities from Kenya and Germany for an international on entrepreneural in institutions of high learning in Africa.

Organised by Collaboration for Entrepreneurial Universities (CEPU) and Developing
Entrepreneurial Universities in Kenya (DePUK), the conference will be co-ordinated from the Mwai Kibaki Convention Centre at the University’s main campus.

Prof. Peter Wanderi says the confrence will provide a platform through projects which will disseminate their findings on possible toolkits to create enterpreneurial universities in Africa.

“It will also demystify an enterpreneurial universities in a dynamic world,” he added.

The conference is part of a strategy to prepare graduands to utilise their training to
engage in entrepreneurship instead of reliance on employment.

It will bring together participants from MKU, Kenyatta University, Karatina University, Chuka University as participants representing local institutions of higher learning including Hochschule Bonn RheinSieg University of applied Sciences, Leuphana Universitat Luneburg, Leipzig University and Hochschule Wismar from Germany.

The theme of the conference is: “Entrepreneurial Universities in Kenya” and is sponsored by DAAD and Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
