Bruno Shioso appointed the new police spokesman

Inspector general of police Hilary Mutyambai has named Bruno Isohi Shioso as the new Police Spokesperson.
The former Criminal Investigations Officer replaces Charles Owino who was transferred to the Kenya National Focal Point on Small Arms and Light Weapons and named the deputy director.
“Bruno Shioso is the new Police Spokesman,” Mutyambai said.
A commissioner of police with an investigation background from the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has served in various roles and positions for a service spanning close to 30 years.
He has served as a Direct Commission Intelligence Officer (DCIO) and a police instructor at Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC).
Shioso is currently on secondment to the United Nations Police (UNPOL), heading the Serious and Organized Crime Team (SOC).
Before his deployment, Shioso served at the United Nation headquarters, New York.
At the UN, he held the position of team leader of the Serious and Organized Crime Team (SOC Team) which aims to address transnational threats, including serious and organized crime, corruption, and violent extremism.
In 2016, he served as the Criminal Investigations Officers (CCIO) in Mombasa County.
He also worked as the personal assistant to the former DCI boss, Muhoro Ndegwa.
He will take over the role immediately, after jetting in from New York in the United States, where he was on a secondment mission for the United Nations.
