Baringo County Assembly Speaker William Kamket has refuted claims linking him to the spate of attacks in the region.
While addressing journalists in Nakuru, he defended himself against claims of incitement saying he has done nothing wrong to warrant the accusations.
“We are sad over what is happening and it is wrong for anyone to insinuate that I have been inciting members of my community. We hope the government will move with speed to ensure that security is restored,” he said.
He urged leaders to stop politicising security issues for selfish gain saying this has led to unnecessary loss of lives.
West Pokot Senator John Lonyangapuo, who appealed for tolerance, echoed Kamlet’s sentiments, calling on sobriety in dealing with insecurity issues.
He urged residents of Tiatty constituency to stop taking law into their hands whenever a situation happens.
“I would like to urge residents of Tiaty and Baringo county as a whole to respect the rule of law,” he said.
