Approximately 1.3pupils begin sitting for KPSEA exams today
The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams kicked off today morning with approximately 1.3pupils sitting for the national paper.
This will then pave way for their transition to Grade VII next year.

Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) officials presided over the exercise with KNEC Chairman, Professor Julius Nyabundi, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) , Dr. David Njengere, leading the distribution of assessment materials.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba marked the beginning of the exams in Westlands, Nairobi, assuring that the Ministry has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure the smooth conduct of all national examinations.
Notably, students in regions like Tana River, which face security challenges, will sit their exams in police stations to ensure their safety.
Magoha emphasized that no student would be excluded from taking the national examinations.
Introduced in 2022, the KPSEA aims to support a smooth transition for students moving into Junior Secondary School.
This year’s exams will evaluate students in six key subjects: Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Science, Social Studies, and Creative Arts.
Today, the assessment schedule kicks off with Mathematics and English papers on followed by Integrated Science and Kiswahili on tomorrow.
The students will then wrap up the exams with Creative Arts and Social Studies on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
