Another candidate declares bid for presidential race

A hitherto unkmown Kenyan Stephen Owoko has joined the growing list of residential candidates seeking to challenge incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 General elections.

Owoko launched his bid in Nairobi on Friday and promised to give free medical services in all public hospitals in the country if elected.

The middle-aged man claimed both the opposition and the government have done nothing to improve the lives of millions of Kenyans who are still living in abject poverty five decades after the country achieved its self-rule.

He said both Jubilee and Cord leaders have been in government and are responsible for the current mess the country’s economy is in. “The opposition and the government are one and the same thing.

We must reject Jubilee, we must reject the so called National Super Alliance; they have been there before and their best is the worst that we have today found ourselves in,” said Owoka.

He said he would be vying as an Independent candidate and vowed to put up a serious fight despite trying his hands in politics for the first time. “I will put in place robust policies to save our economy key amongst them I will ensure we have a free education system from nursery to university in the country.

I will also ensure that I write off all Higher Education Loan Board (HELB) debts that have become a burden on our students,” said Owoko. “We must stand up as patriotic people of this nation and make our country safe. I will create five million direct jobs for millions of our youths who graduate and have nowhere to go,” he added.
