GulfCap Real Estate feted as best affordable housing project

GulfCap Real Estate has been honoured for steering sustainable, inclusive and community focused growth of Kenya’s real estate sector.

The firm was recognised at the 2025 by the Kenya Professional Realtors Association (KPRA) Gala Awards, for its development at Buxton Point in Mombasa, an urban renewal project delivered under the Affordable Housing Programme.

With 584 homes delivered in Phase 1 and the ongoing Phase 2, Buxton was feted for standing out as a national benchmark for dignified, well planned and socially integrated housing.

“The development has reshaped a critical urban corridor in Mombasa, demonstrating how strategic public-private partnerships can unlock quality homes, uplift communities and stimulate local economic growth,” said Peter Wairegi, Chairman and Executive Director, KPRA.

The official also noted that GulfCap Real Estate’s work was guided by a value based development approach focused on creating tangible wealth for homeowners, supporting community up-liftment and enabling long-term economic resilience.

“Kenya’s construction industry has been experiencing significant growth, fueled by large-scale infrastructure projects and affordable housing programs,” said Wairegi.

He added; “The award is a vital meeting point for investors, developers, professionals and policy-makers to exchange ideas, build partnerships and explore business opportunities.”

The award was dedicated to GulfCap Real Estate’s staff, partners and stakeholders, reflecting the collective effort behind the company’s achievements.

GulfCap Real Estate management, while appreciating the recognition, emphasized that without the commitment, passion and able leadership across its teams and partnerships, such milestones would not have been possible.

“This recognition from KPRA affirms our continued commitment to building sustainable communities that create lasting value,” GulfCap Real Estate’s Geoffrey Ongaya, General Manager at Buxton Point stated during the event held in Nairobi on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
